Is the supplement or remedy I'm taking going to make me sick?
Dr. Springer: Unless you are allergic or sensitive to a particular ingredient in the nutritional supplement, you should not have any adverse reactions to any of the substances recommended on this web site. If you suspect that there has been an adverse reaction such as an upset stomach or headache, simply discontinue use of the supplement for 1 to 2 days and restart to see if you have the same problem. Try taking the supplement in the middle of the meal or some at the beginning, some in the middle and some towards the end of your meal.

Are the supplements really going to work for me?
Dr. Springer: I have used the various supplements found in our site to help thousands of patients with the described ailments for at least nineteen (19) years. I have found them to be extremely effective in helping to resolve, in most cases, and in the remaining cases, they will at least help to minimize the symptoms. So, you can expect, in most instances, that these supplements will work. The important factor is to take only those you truly require and I strongly suggest working with an expert professional.

Has the recommended supplements helped other patients?
Dr. Springer: The supplements recommended on this web site have been very helpful for the majority of doctors using them with patients who have taken them.

How long do you have to stay on the vitamin?
Dr. Springer: In each case where a vitamin is needed, there is a general expected period of time that vitamin should be given. If you are not under a doctor’s care, you should see a trained physician who can assist you in determining which vitamins to take and for how long. Too much of a particular nutrient can cause a shortage of others. We use the analysis of a comprehensive blood test, symptom questionnaire, family history and clinical impression of our examination findings to zero in on the correct nutrition for each individual. We determine which additional tests may be necessary to reveal a functional problem when symptoms point to a cause that is not found with conventional tests.

What is alternative medicine?
Alternative medicine, is many things to many people One may believe it is a system of medical therapy that involves using any modality that is found to be helpful, including those modalities or preventive health care practices, such as homeopathy, naturopathy, chiropractic, and herbal medicine, that do not follow generally accepted medical methods that do not come from the realm of standard orthodox medicine. An alternative physician will use both natural and chemical substances as necessary to help relieve the suffering of a patient.

What methods of treatment does Dr Springer use ?
Dr. Springer: At our office we use Applied Kinesiology:

A diagnostic system using muscle testing to augment normal examination procedures. It was founded and developed by Dr. George Goodheart, Jr., a chiropractor.  Further advances have been made by members of the International College of Applied Kinesiology

A diagnostic tool that uses the neuromuscular system and other measurable parameters to aid in evaluating what is wrong and what to do for a patient.

An expanding body of knowledge that covers in depth the structural and chemical imbalances that is at the base of most patient's problems.

Applied Kinesiology IS NOT!!A simple yes / no, radionics or pendulum type of testing system.

Testing bottles in the hand or pills on the skin.

Testing using mental telepathy.

Using crystals or magnets as treatment modalities.

Touch for health or any of the other forms of evaluation using muscle testing as a simple yes - no answer system.

A simplistic, cookie cutter approach to treatment.

We also use S.O.T. (Sacro Occipital Technique).

What does SOT stand for?
SOT stands for Sacro Occipital Technique (or Technic). "Sacro" means "related to, or associated with," the sacrum. The sacrum is the foundation for the spine. The sacrum is often called the tail bone though this is not exactly correct. "Occipital" means "related to or associated with the occiput. Occiput means "the back of the head". So, SOT is a method of normalizing the relationship between the foundation of the spine and the top of the spine. It is this relationship and how these two bones get along with one another, that has been proven to be so important in the normal functioning of the brain and spinal cord.
The word "Technic" is another way of spelling "technique". Either word means "the way to get the job done, scientifically and in a short period of time".

What is Sacro Occipital Technique?
SOT and SOT Cranial is a method of chiropractic care that identifies the cause of your symptoms. SOT practitioners understand the mechanics and neurology of the body in an organized and practical way.

An SOT doctor knowledgeably analyzes your body to determine underlying

  • spinal,
  • cranial, and
  • organ-related problems.

The SOT practitioner determines the cause of your problems and corrects it using very specific and effective methods. SOT doctors integrate large amounts of information, using several different techniques and approaches simultaneously, as SOT integrates easily and seamlessly with other chiropractic systems.

SOT patients are also routinely given guidance regarding home care, diet, and nutrition.

Patients seeing SOT practitioners can relax and know that they are in the best hands in chiropractic. SOT doctors understand your problems and use a systematic and comprehensive approach to chiropractic care.

In a nutshell, SOT practitioners are thinking chiropractors willing and able to deliver quality care. The word "Technic" is another way of spelling "technique". Either word means "the way to get the job done, scientifically and in a short period of time".

What is homeopathy?
Dr.Springer: Homeopathy is a system of medicine. It was first given practical application by Samuel Hahnemann of Leipzig, Germany, in the early 19th cent. And was designated homeopathy to distinguish it from the established school of medicine which he called allopathy. It had been observed that quinine given to a healthy person causes the same symptoms that malaria does in a person suffering from that disease; therefore quinine became the preferred treatment in malaria. When a drug was found to produce the same symptoms, as did a certain disease, it was then used in small doses in treatment of that disease. This is thought to be nonsense by many scientists around the world U.S. medical schools do not presently emphasize the homeopathic approach, although it has become popular among some physicians in European and Asian nations. . But, it has been proven thousands of times over the past 200 years that, in fact, it has been extremely useful in helping many medical conditions resolve. The beautiful thing about homeopathy is that the remedies are non-toxic at the levels given and, therefore, are safe for any age group.

Can you take nutritional supplements or homeopathic remedies if you are pregnant?
Dr. Springer: Women who are pregnant are usually in need of nutritional supplementation. Folic acid and Calcium are 2 vital nutrients and since most nutritional supplements and herbs are made from food substances, there should be no more expectation of bad effects from these then you would have from having dinner at your favorite restaurant. But, if you have a strong suspicion that a supplement or any other substance you are taking in having an adverse effect on your pregnancy, you should discontinue it's use immediately. It is best to prepare your body by handling nutritional imbalances and having a correct diet and exercise program 6 months to a year before attempting to become pregnant. This will allow your baby to have the best chances of being healthy and strong as well as not creating a mass defiance in your own body.

What are Amino Acids?
Dr Springer: Amino acids are often referred to as the "building blocks" that make up proteins in the body. Proteins would not exist without the proper amount of amino acids. Proteins, next to water, make up most of our body. Proteins make up muscles, organs, ligaments, tendons, hair, nails and glands. Includes all of the essential Amino Acids.

What comprises an examination using Applied Kinesiology?
The process begins with a detailed questioning of the patient to uncover clues as to what may be going on. Generally, problems can be related to chemical imbalances, structural imbalances or mental stress or any combination of the above. After this general examination procedures are used to assess the health of the patient. For example, changes in blood pressure from lying to sitting to standing can indicate imbalances in the body. This is followed with specific examination procedures used by the practitioner. For example, in a musculoskeletal problem, skin sensitivity, knee reflex or balancing can help to uncover problems. After these tests are performed, an evaluation of the strength of the muscles is performed. There are many causes of muscular weakness and different procedures may be used to uncover the cause. At the end of all of these different but important parts, the information is correlated to establish a treatment program.

What is the education of someone doing Applied Kinesiology?
Applied Kinesiology is performed by health care professionals. First, they have their basic education is what ever field they practice. For example, they might be a medical doctor, osteopath, chiropractor or a dentist. They then study Applied Kinesiology in a post graduate setting usually in weekend classes. The basic course takes over 100 hours of classroom study and many hours of study and practice at home. A basic proficiency in Applied Kinesiology is tested for at the end of this basic class. Continuing classes are taken to reach the next step where a diplomate exam, a complete understanding as shown by a written and oral test, is taken. To attain this level, over 300 hours of classroom study are required along with the writing of at least two research papers.

Is Applied Kinesiology muscle testing?
A professional using Applied Kinesiology test muscles therefore utilizing muscle testing as a tool to confirm his/her normal examination findings. Muscle testing has been misused as a tool and oversimplified by many.

Does Applied Kinesiology replace standard examinations?
NO. Applied Kinesiology is used as a further tool to help define what is going wrong or what imbalances are present. For example, in some conditions like hypoglycemia their will be specific muscle Weakness patterns that can be found. However these same weakness could be there because of a nerve problem Only an adequate history of the person, coupled with standard examination procedures and if needed laboratory findings allow a proper treatment of the person. The use of Applied Kinesiology procedures speeds the examination process and helps to rule out other possible causes of the persons health problems.
